Hydrogen will become commodities?

Hydrogen is a kind of secondary energy, it is through a method of using other energy production, rather than coal, mining, petroleum, natural gas can be directly now almost completely dependent on fossil fuels to obtain, if can waste hydrogen recycling project, each year can be recycled to about 100 million cubic meters, the number is considerable.

While the hydrogen industry cheered the inclusion of hydrogen in the national bureau of statistics' new statistical reporting system for energy, hydrogen is already enjoying international commodity status.

Recently, S&P Global Platts announced the release of the world's first hydrogen price evaluation product, and the first hydrogen price information has appeared on its website.

This means that as the hydrogen industry continues to heat up around the world, the price of hydrogen is also coming into focus, and hydrogen is starting to have the potential to become a commodity.

Now is the time to tap the potential of hydrogen to play a key role in a clean, safe and affordable energy future. At the request of the government of Japan, which holds the g20 presidency, the international energy agency (IEA) has produced a landmark report, "the future of hydrogen -- seize today's opportunity," to analyse the current state of hydrogen development and provide guidance for its future development. The report found that clean hydrogen is now enjoying unprecedented political and commercial momentum, with policies being implemented rapidly around the world and the number of hydrogen projects rapidly increasing. The report concludes that now is the time to scale up technology and reduce costs to make hydrogen widely available.Practical and actionable proposals to government and industry will make it possible to take full advantage of this growing momentum.

Hydrogen can help meet key energy challenges.Hydrogen provides a way to decarbonise industries, including long-distance transport, chemicals and steel, that have proved difficult to achieve. It also helps improve air quality and energy security.Despite ambitious international climate targets, global energy-related carbon dioxide emissions hit an all-time high in 2018.Outdoor air pollution remains a pressing problem, with about three million premature deaths a year.

Hydrogen has many USES.Existing technologies allow hydrogen to be produced, stored and used in different ways for mobile and energy use.Hydrogen can be produced from a variety of fuels, including renewable energy, nuclear, natural gas, coal and oil.Hydrogen can be transported by ship in a pipeline or liquid form, just like liquefied natural gas (LNG).It can also be converted into electricity and methane to power homes and feed industries, and into fuel for cars, trucks, ships and planes.Hydrogen could make a bigger contribution from renewable energy sources. It has the potential to help address the intermittent output of renewable energy sources - like solar photovoltaic (PV) and wind - whose availability does not always match demand well.Hydrogen is one of the main options for storing renewable energy and looks promising as a low-cost option for storing electricity for days, weeks or even months.Hydrogen and hydrogen-based fuels can transport renewable energy over long distances, from regions rich in solar and wind energy, such as Australia or Latin America, to energy-hungry cities thousands of kilometres away.

Molecular hydrogen medicine will affect the whole field of medicine.Hydrogen trace medicine effect was found in 2007, after 13 years from basic to clinical, division force from drinking to bathe, and from the suction to the diet, clinical research and product type diversification development have made some progress, a large number of trying to use the case of hydrogen and hydrogen water, give an in-depth research on RCT in clinical medicine hydrogen offers plenty of valuable clues. With the increasing evidence of hydrogen clinical research, people have a higher understanding of the effectiveness of hydrogen as a safe and non-toxic substance in the treatment of diseases, and the industry has also launched a variety of inexpensive and affordable products with sufficient hydrogen content in line with The Times. Research and industry cooperate with each other to promote the vigorous development of hydrogen medicine.

The current global demand for hydrogen is about 70m tonnes a year, according to the international energy agency. In addition, according to standard & poor's global platts analysis, a 10 per cent mix in the pipeline would add 60m tonnes of demand a year, while a 20 per cent penetration rate in the commercial fleet of hydrogen fuel cells could add another 60m tonnes a year.

"The hydrogen market is relatively opaque at the moment, but the potential is enormous," said Simon Thorne, global fuels director at s&p global platts. We recognize that hydrogen will play an important role in the future of clean energy, and that this fuel will revolutionize the future. To provide the transparency that is critical to the development of the market, S&P Global Platts' new hydrogen price assessment will provide an independent and impartial assessment of hydrogen as a primary fuel."

Hydrogen price assessment of the standard & poor's (hydrogen, price assessments)

Standard & poor's global platts' new hydrogen price assessment suite reflects the price of hydrogen in key consumer regions in the U.S. and Europe, including the U.S. gulf coast, California and the Netherlands.

In the United States, platts publishes two prices for each route of production. One price reflects the cost of producing goods, while the other reflects the cost of producing goods and capital expenditure associated with building hydrogen facilities. The price calculation USES daily feedstock prices for natural gas and electricity and weekly carbon quota prices for California.U.S. regional prices are updated at 9:30 am CST each trading day.

The Dutch price represents the price of hydrogen from methane reforming in the previous month. The published price includes the cost of goods produced, including the cost of goods produced for carbon, including the cost of production for capital expenditure, and the cost of goods produced for capital expenditure and carbon. The calculations use gas, electricity and carbon quota prices from a month ago.Dutch regional costs are updated every trading day at 4:30 PM London time.

In other words, standard & poor's currently has three sets of methods for calculating the price of hydrogen production, including gas, electricity, methanol, water, carbon emission quotas and capital expenditure. This reflects the situation of major hydrogen production methods abroad, and also reflects that the cost of transportation and other links occupies a large part of the price of terminal hydrogen.

Given the importance of hydrogen in a rapidly transitioning world, s&p global platts is already considering price assessments in other regions, including Asia.

"Decarbonization is a key element of the energy transition, addressing emissions in the industrial sector, long-distance transportation, transportation, residential and commercial use, and other areas," said romain kramakuk, head of energy solutions, policy and technology at standard & poor's global platts energy analytics.Storage needs to meet clean energy targets, which will be particularly challenging - but crucial to meeting global carbon reduction targets. We estimate that a shift to zero hydrocarbons in existing applications and moderate penetration in gas pipelines and trucks could reduce global carbon dioxide emissions from energy burning by more than 7 percent."
